The submarket Westend is a central city centre submarket located north of the Banking District submarket. In the past years, the southern part of the submarket grew together with the Banking District to form one important office location in Frankfurt. Thus, particularly the main roads Bockenheimer Landstrasse, Bockenheimer Anlage, Taunusanlage and Mainzer Landstrasse are lined with skyscrapers. The newest and most prestigious project development is the high rise Opernturm (168m) which opened in 2009 and was developed on the site of the demolished Zürich-Hochhaus. Particularly on Bockenheimer Landstrasse many new-builds and refurbishment projects were completed in the past years including Westend Duo, Westend Windows, Bock 39 and Triton. However, buildings in smaller side streets are also being comprehensively refurbished such as the Westend First or Romeo & Julia.
